Warren Buffett Profile
Warren Buffett is the most respected and successful investor in history, often referred to as “The Oracle of Omaha” due to his impressive investing skills. He studied under the legendary Benjamin Graham at Columbia University, who greatly influenced Buffett’s life and investment strategies. Buffett is the Chairman of Berkshire Hathaway, a company he transformed from a textile firm into a major insurance conglomerate.
Warren Buffett follows a value investing strategy, an adaptation of Benjamin Graham’s approach. His disciplined, patient, and value-driven investment style consistently outperforms the market, and his decisions are closely followed by investors worldwide. Buffett aims to acquire great companies trading below their intrinsic value and hold them long-term. Berkshire invests only in businesses that Buffett understands and insists on a margin of safety. As Buffett once said, Berkshire looks for businesses that are (a) understandable, (b) have favorable long-term prospects, (c) are managed by honest and competent people, and (d) are available at an attractive price.
As of June 30, 2024, Berkshire Hathaway’s latest SEC 13F filing shows 41 total holdings, with a portfolio valued at $279.97 billion and a turnover rate of 1%. The top five holdings are Apple Inc (AAPL), Bank of America Corp (BAC), American Express Co (AXP), Coca-Cola Co (KO), and Chevron Corp (CVX). No new stocks were purchased in the current portfolio.
